Amsterdam Airport to cancel night flights within two years
Amsterdam Schiphol International Airport announces its intention to cancel all night flights within two years as part of the fight against noise pollution.
The airport will be completely closed for flights from midnight to 5 a.m. local time. During the period from 5 to 6 in the morning, only the landing of aircraft will be allowed. After 6 am, both takeoff and landing will be allowed. Exceptions will only be possible if security is compromised.
In addition, Schiphol plans to ban the reception of the most noisy aircraft, such as the Boeing 747-400, often used for cargo transportation, and reduce the number of private flights to zero.
