A passenger tried to take out 5 kg of gold bullion in a suitcase at Blagoveshchensk airport

The FSB of Russia in the Amur region reported an attempt to export gold in luggage by a passenger departing from Blagoveshchensk airport.

"In the baggage inspection area of Blagoveshchensk airport, 10 bars of native gold with a total weight of over 5 kg were seized, which were hidden in a specially equipped cache in one of the suitcases. The precious metal, the total cost of which amounted to more than 21 million rubles, the owner of the luggage planned to take out to one of the foreign countries," the message says.
