The Road to hell: 77 years ago, the US used nuclear weapons

On August 6, 1945, the United States of America conducted the first and only atomic bombing in the history of mankind.

On August 6, at 8:15 a.m., the atomic bomb "Baby" was dropped on the Japanese city of Hiroshima, about 100 thousand people were killed and missing, about 160 thousand people were injured and exposed to radioactive radiation, the vast majority of the dead were civilians.

On August 9, at 11:2 a.m., another Japanese city, Nagasaki, was subjected to a nuclear attack.

Today, on the day of the bombing of Hiroshima, the entire world community honors the memory of all those killed and injured as a result of those bombings, celebrating August 6 as Hiroshima Day – the World Day of Struggle for the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons.
