The first flight of the IL-18. How was it

1. On July 4, 1957 (exactly 65 years ago), the first experimental flight of the legendary IL-18 passenger liner took place.

2. By the beginning of 1959, the IL-18 began to be used on passenger lines to Sochi and Almaty (Alma-Ata) from Moscow.

3. The aircraft project was created by the Soviet aircraft designer Ilyushin and by the 60s of the last century had become the flagship type of aircraft used by Aeroflot on domestic and international flights.

4. To date, the North Korean airline Air Koryo continues commercial use of the IL-18.

5. The memory of the IL-18 is imprinted in monuments, as well as in numerous Soviet films of the 60-70s.
