Russian planes will be allowed to use handcuffs

From September 1, 2022, Russia will be allowed to handcuff airbowmen and fasten them with plastic belts. This decision was made in the Government, the resolution was published on the official portal of Internet information.

Crew members will be able to use plastic handcuffs and nylon belts as a means of restraining violent and inadequate passengers of the aircraft. The means can be used against people whose actions pose a real threat to flight safety or a threat to the life and health of others, or those who refuse to obey the orders of the aircraft commander.

In addition, flight attendants will have to watch the bound rowdy before the plane lands and not let strangers near the means of restraint.

Before that, the crew members could only call the police after the plane landed. After that, an administrative protocol could be drawn up against the hooligan or a criminal case could be initiated.
