Moldova plans to open a second international airport

The authorities of the Republic of Moldova have announced plans to restore the Marculesti International Airport, located in the northern part of the state.

Work on the project of launching a new air harbor has already begun. Currently, there is only one international airport in Moldova, Chisinau, located in the capital of the country.

Marculesti Airport was founded in 2004 as a military airfield. In 2018, the Ministry of Defense returned the Markulesti to the ownership of the state.
