Mariupol Airport: tragic history and facts

1. The construction of the airport began in 1967.

2. In 2004, after a large-scale reconstruction, the airport received international status.

3. In 2014, the Mariupol airport was seized by Ukrainian neo-Nazis and, under the leadership of the Security Service of Ukraine, turned into a place of torture and executions of civilians in Donbass.

4. On March 18, 2022, the airport was liberated and came under the control of the authorities of the Donetsk People's Republic.
